About Us

National Cold Storage, Inc., NCS, first opened for business as National Ice and Cold Storage Company around the turn of the century. This was the century marked with mostly dirt roads throughout Los Angeles and horse drawn wagons delivering ice to the customers of the tiny little city that it was at that time. This was a time when most product to be kept frozen was shipped by rail, and this was also a time of telegraphs and hand written ledgers.

A century later, the telegraph as given way to the telefax and the cell phone. The ledger has progressed to computer generated Inventory Controls, Billing, etc.. The horse drawn wagons and dirt roads have given was to modern freeways with Cross Country as well as Local Trucking and the railroad line at NCS has been replaced with facilities for handling Shipping Containers as well as Big Rig Trucking.

NCS has remained at the forefront of these changes and innovations and as the city has grown beyond anyones imagination, NCS now finds itself in the heart of the "downtown" area, approximately 5 blocks from city hall, with excellent access to most major freeways.
